Cathryn Robertson produced 17 Short Films as a documentary investigating the many issues surrounding breast cancer. My contribution comments on some of the emotions involved with diagnosis and treatment, on how our use of the technologies of machines, radiation, and chemicals objectify the body, and emphasizes the uncertainty and anguish caused by the disease.

In 2008 17 Short Films was nominated for five Leos. Since then it has appeared in film festivals in Toronto, Vancouver, Berkely, and Houston and was selected by Telefilm Canada for consideration by The Museum of Modern Art, NY.
